This hip hangout has pet-friendly tables on its outside patios and even hosts a monthly “Yappy Hour,” which is an evening dedicated to pet adoption.
Golden Road Brewing Company’s Pub | Los Angeles
Notable cuisine accompanied by a craft brew? Check. And you’re welcome to bring your dog. This bar has a special “Doggy Deck,” which the Los Angeles Times describes as “a fantastic location to bring your pet while you relax with a pint or a pitcher.” To keep tails wagging, water dishes and doggy treats prepared from the grain used to create the beer are offered.”
The Fat Dog is located in Fairfax and North Hollywood, California.
This canine-themed gastropub was at the top on Eater Los Angeles’ list of “13 Delightfully Dog-Friendly Restaurants in Los Angeles.” Its “big airy patio that many four-legged best pals love to frequent” was lauded in its review. Fat Dog’s flagship Fairfax location is next door to Tailwaggers pet store, and the proprietors own a Labrador and a bulldog. Well-behaved puppies and their owners are rewarded with treats.”
Seattle’s Bark! Espresso
When you think of Seattle, you think of coffee. Dog owners require caffeine, so it’s no surprise that this city offers a plethora of pet-friendly coffee shops. Espresso, in particular, seemed to go above and above. According to The Dog People, the business is “not only dog-themed, but private rooms are accessible by reservation” — and you can “have your dog’s face on your coffee.”
Las Vegas’s Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar
Why take a chance on a lousy meal? According to The Canine People, “your pet may order from Lazy Dog’s dog menu, which offers meat and rice, with a complementary bowl of water,” so he or she can join you on the patio and have his or her own dinner.
Boise, Idaho | Fork
This restaurant’s motto is “Loyal to Local,” and this attitude extends not just to its sourcing but also to those it serves, particularly the animal pals on its outside patio. At Fork, dedicated staff is known to often check to ensure that your dog has enough water. According to TotallyBoise.com, it is one of the “Best Restaurants to Take Your Dog”: Everyone should take a seat and unwind.

Austin, Texas | Banger’s Sausage House and Beer Garden
Live music, handmade sausage, and craft beer, not to mention the dog-friendly amenities. This is how the website for this unique place sums it up: “We truly enjoy dogs, and we hope they like us too, with an off-leash dog park and a gourmet sausage cooked specifically for dogs on the menu.” .
Sarasota, Florida’s Old Salty Dog
When a “Dog Blog” is prominently placed on the site, you know it’s a dog-friendly establishment. Meet the latest “Dog of the Month,” each of whom is depicted with his or her winning Frisbee. Reviewers frequently praise the staff for their dog-friendly attitude, which includes anything from delivering fresh water to offering excellent hot dogs.
Little Rock, Arkansas’s Bark Bar
Need to let off some steam — and so does your dog? Citrus | Virginia Beach, Virginia
PetsWelcome.com recommends Citrus, a popular breakfast/brunch establishment with two locations, as a pet-friendly site to start the day off well, dining al fresco with the canine, especially under evocative orange umbrellas.
Charleston, South Carolina’s Eli’s Table
The lovely patio at Eli’s Table earns excellent reviews, especially from pet owners who may dine with their dogs. Jenna commented on BringFido.com in May, “Went here on a single supper with my pooch Otis and the service we had was great!” We were greeted warmly upon arrival, especially by Otis. He was handed a slice of bacon after I confirmed that he was permitted to eat one. Then we were shown to a shady location on the patio, and a new canine bowl of water was brought out to him. “Even some staff came out to say hi.”
MID America
Chicago 312 | Chicago
When weather permits, dogs are permitted on the outside patio of this Italian eatery. Those in the know travel to 312 Chicago around midday on Saturdays and Sundays for “Waggin Weekends,” which include a special “K9” menu. If your dog isn’t hungry, he or she can skip the “mains” and go straight for the “treats,” such as a peanut-butter biscuit.
Milwaukee’s DiModa Pizza & Hotspot
People come to DiModa Pizza to eat the meals cooked in the bespoke wood-fired oven. Dogs visit DiModa Puppy & Hotspot as well — well, it’s a dog menu with options ranging from a Pup Patty (basic Angus beef patty with a side of carrots) to a Puparoni Pizza. In any case, they may quench their thirst with Bowser Beer, a “dog-friendly ‘beer’ with either chicken or beef flavor.”
Navy Pier Harry Caray’s Tavern | Chicago
A BringFido.com reviewer awarded this “extremely dog-friendly” establishment a “five-bone review,” saying, “Our golden retriever Maya received a Harry Caray’s portable water dish and a warm welcome from everyone.” The service and meal were excellent.” According to the restaurant’s website, its dog-friendly terrace is the perfect spot to savor smoked barbecue and the splendor of Lake Michigan.
EAST SIDE
New York | Boris & Horton
Take the leash and walk to the East Village. This venue serves specialty coffee and espresso drinks, gluten-free and vegan meals, and was New York’s first Department of Health-approved dog-friendly café “where guests are welcome to bring their own dogs inside.” Boris and Horton also organize a number of adoption events and fundraisers to assist canines in finding “forever homes.” If you really like it, there are plenty of items for sale to help spread the word, such as Maison de Pawz snacks containing “plenty of wonderful Omega 3s to keep your dog’s hair shining and keep them romping!”
New York’s Meow Parlour
Isn’t it true that cats have equal time in New York? This location is intended for prospective pet parents. Visit this cat café where you can “rent time” to relax with its free-roaming cats, buy delicious snacks to share with a furry companion, and, yes, even adopt a cat. There’s a “yoga with kittens” option, and for the truly committed, you can even arrange a session with a veterinary tech who will answer any of your cat-related queries.
New York’s Barking Dog
Okay, the name might give it away. But this restaurant in Manhattan’s affluent Upper East Side not only serves classic American meals for humans. Also, as its website says, “a dog-friendly ambiance that caters to the family canine.” The outside dining area at Barking Dog has a doggie fountain where your dog may interact with other animal pals while you enjoy great cafe-style meals.” Bringing the picture full circle? Wall art featuring dogs, such as framed “101 Dalmatians” posters.
Mystic, Connecticut’s Jealous Monk
Regional craft beers are a highlight at this tourist attraction, which also serves fish and chips, hamburgers, and more. However, your pet is allowed on the outdoor patio. Servers at Jealous Monk have been known to provide bowls of water before being asked, while BringFido.com reviewer Melanie remarked, “They were amazing with our doggie… even brought her handmade dog treats.”
Asbury Park, New Jersey’s Kim Marie’s Eat N Drink Away
According to a Facebook post, this off-the-boardwalk eating place is “extremely dog friendly.” We should mention it because the Doggie Menu was featured in a May piece. Should Fido have a burger, grilled chicken, steak, or salmon? Oh, and there are dessert options as well.
Ocean City, Maryland’s Macky’s Bayside Bar & Grill
According to OceanCity.com, this is one of the best pet-friendly restaurants in town: “If you sit outdoors at Macky’s, you can enjoy a gorgeous bayside sunset and quality time with your dogs.” They also offer a mini-menu for dogs to enjoy while they aren’t investigating the sand and aromas of the outside sitting area.” Why not? Macky’s website invites you to “bring your dog to supper.”
Wells, Maine’s Rollover Café
The Rollover Café cares about its customers – and their dogs. In anticipation of sweltering heat, a July Facebook post stated, “Remember to water and don’t forget about your dogs who need to remain cool too!” It frequently publishes pictures of “adorable pups” that come to visit, recognizes working military dogs, and welcomes dogs over for “tasty snacks.”
O’Brien’s Pub is located in Newport, Rhode Island
Puppies — and humans — like basking in this town’s Gilded Age houses, feeling wealthy as they visit the relics of a bygone era. After that, relax and let your dog lead you to O’Brien’s Pub, which dates back to 1945. T-Bones Great American Eatery | Bedford, N.H.
A “Tails on the Terrace ” menu offers canines a “restaurant-quality dinner” particularly prepared for dogs and served on the terrace. Frank’s Bacon-Wrapped Bites, created with slow-cooked smoked bacon wrapped around cheddar and jack cheese, is one of the pet-friendly meals named after the staff’s own dogs. It’s also worth noting that ice-cold H2O is completely free.
Boston’s Liberty Hotel
From May through October, dog owners are invited to “Yappier Hour” in the hotel’s back “yard” twice a week. Pet owners are welcome to chat over cocktails and canapés, while dogs receive a few goodies as well. The annual Halloween Canine Costume Contest takes place on Oct. 31.
Milton, Delaware’s Dogfish Head Craft Brewery
According to VisitDelaware.com, this unique brewery “allows animals to hang around in the tasting area,” but the brewery tour is “people only.” The firm also works with Waggies by Maggie & Friends, which is “on a mission to employ individuals with intellectual impairments and produce all-natural dog treats using the finest ingredients,” according to its website.
Art and the Soul Washington, D.C.
Dogs may relax on the “Pooch Patio” at this dog-friendly restaurant known for its Southern food. However, “well-behaved canines are welcome to dine on our terrace, take in the view of the Capital, or simply unwind with an ice cold Bowser Beer.” The Gravy Train, which consists of house-made meat and rice in flavorful gravy, could be just what you’re looking for.
Manheim, Pennsylvania’s Divine Swine In-Out BBQ
At Divine Swine, you don’t have to give your dogs leftovers from your plate; as BringFido.com reviewer Dell remarked last year, “Not only did they supply water for our dogs, but they even brought out some brisket, particularly for the dogs!!!”
